Sunblock lotions

Sunblock lotions can be just the item you'll want for your personal care needs. Sun care shouldn't just be practiced during the summer while out on the beach. What many people fail to realize is that UV damage to the skin can occur all year-round. Anytime the sun is shining, whether it's fall or even on a cloudy day in the winter, ultraviolet rays are still making their way to your skin and complexion. One way to fight this is to use sunblock.

The beauty of these lotions is that they are not only formulated to combat the damaging effects of ultraviolet rays, they are also ideal for keeping your skin moisturized and nourished just like regular body lotion. Using sunblock in this form allows for easier application. You can choose a sunblock lotion for daily use and each one comes with an SPF rating. The majority of are labeled anywhere between SPF 15 to SPF 45.

While shopping for this type of product, you'll want to make sure you choose one that meets all your skin's needs. You can find those that contain not only the ingredients that reflect and block UVA and UVB rays, but also essential moisturizing properties, such as aloe vera, shea butter, soy proteins, and vitamins A, C and E. To fully protect yourself, be sure that the item you choose states that it blocks both UVA and UVB rays. Why only be safe from one and not the other?

The price range can be substantial. Top brand names tend to be on the pricier side, while you can also find generic versions at much more affordable prices. However, be sure that you aren't skimping on quality in order to save a few dollars. Generic lotions can still be fairly effective but still make it a point to read the labels and make sure the ingredients themselves prove that the product is capable of offering adequate protection.

Reapplication is also an important factor to remember when using sunblock lotions. While you may not be heavily sweating throughout your day, the longer you go without reapplying, the more at risk your skin will be. You may want to look into carrying a travel sized version for quick and easy reapplications. Also reapply after swimming or coming into contact with any water.
